’Co - Creating with Nature’

RCA Sustain Lab Annual Exhibition
Upper Gulbenkian Gallery
Royal College of Art
May 2024
Kensington Gore, London

Piece exhibited: ‘Hair, An Embodied Knowledge’

“In What Is an Author (1969), Michel Foucault redefines the notion of author, subject,
and subjectivation by integrating with heterogeneous elements, such as human and more-than-human.
As Foucault challenged the pre-existing notion of the author in his book, the exhibition questions
the binary notion that perceives humans as subjects and more-than-human beings as objects in art-making.

Co-creating with nature explores environmentally conscious works of artists and designers who
commit to sustainability through thinking about alternative systems and processes
in their practice. Inviting nature as a co-creator, collaborator, and protagonist of narrative-making,
the exhibition suggests the possibilities of creating collective forms of art with nature.”
